ABOUT THE ROLE
The Junior Legal Counsel will support the Iberian Legal Department across a broad range of commercial and operational matters in Spain and Portugal. The role will provide legal support to the six verticals of the business, namely merchandising, F&B, consultancy, project development, global sales, and partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Contracts
• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, procurement contracts, NDAs and general commercial documentation.
• Support business stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle, from initial review through execution and contract management.
• Prepare contract summaries and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal teams.
• Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions aligned with business objectives.
E-commerce, Retail and Consumer Law
• Support the merchandising and e-commerce teams on legal matters relating to online sales, consumer protection, promotions, marketing activities and digital business operations.
• Review and maintain website terms and conditions, policies and other customer-facing documentation.
• Assist with legal issues arising from retail operations and commercial partnerships.
Data Protection
• Support the business on day-to-day data protection matters, including data processing agreements, privacy notices, cookies compliance and GDPR-related queries.
• Work with internal stakeholders to promote compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
Project Development and Real Estate Support
• Assist with the review and negotiation of lease agreements, fit-out agreements, construction-related contracts and consultant appointments.
• Support venue development, refurbishment and operational projects from a legal perspective.
General Legal Support
• Conduct legal research and prepare internal guidance notes and training materials.
• Liaise with external counsel where required.
• Support the Legal Department on a wide variety of commercial and operational matters across the Iberian business.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Law degree from a recognised university.
• Qualified lawyer in Spain.
• Approximately 2–3 years of relevant experience gained at a law firm, Big Four legal practice or multinational in-house legal department.
• Strong experience in commercial contracts and general business law.
• Exposure to e-commerce, consumer law and/or data protection matters is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting retail, hospitality, procurement, real estate or project-related matters would be advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Fluent Spanish and excellent English, both written and spoken. The successful candidate must be comfortable drafting, negotiating and communicating in English on a daily basis.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of matters and exercise sound judgement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing deadlines.
• Proactive, resourceful and eager to learn.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders across different business functions and jurisdictions.

4th stage - VC Head of HR - Iberia and/or MD - Iberia
