ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accountant will assist the Iberia Finance team in further continuing the development of accounting processes and play a key role in running day-to-day accounting activities.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of accurate financial reports. This role plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization through precise bookkeeping, financial analysis, and process improvement.

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked to run back-office finance operations for the company’s growing business in Iberia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger accounts, journal entries and reconciliations.

• Assist and coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely processing of payment and collections.

• Review account reconciliations and ensure their accuracy.

• Actively participate in monthly and annual financial closing processes.Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.

• Assistance with annual audit process.

• Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes, reporting templates, and internal controls.

• Build solid working relationships with local internal business partners (e.g. procurement, marketing, operations).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, and/or professional Accounting qualification.

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or retail sector.

• Big 4 Audit experience a plus.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

• Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement.

• Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Knowledge of POS, Procurement Systems or ERP a plus.

• Good level of English (verbal and written).
