Known globally for it's iconic race meets including the Dante and Ebor festival, York Racecourse has 19 race days this year from May to October alongside a number of exciting conferencing, banqueting and events throughout the year. We are seeking casual Pot Washers to join our Kitchen Portering team, working race days and event days. As a Pot Wash, you'll play a vital support role within the kitchen, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and You’ll ensuring all equipment, crockery and work areas are clean, safe, and ready for service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently

• Operating and handling dishwashing machinery safely

• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and wash-up areas

• Supporting waste management and recycling procedures

• Carrying out manual handling tasks safely

• Ensuring compliance with hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH regulations

• Assisting the wider kitchen team as required

What We’re Looking For

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Good attention to detail and cleanliness standards

• Ability to carry out physical/manual handling tasks

• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential

• Must be a minimum 17 years old+ to apply due to the nature of this role
