Key responsibilities
As Assistant Retail Manager, you will assist in the smooth running of the Food and Beverage Department, ensuring service standards are maintained and control systems are adhered to. Ensuring the facility is operated efficiently and in line with budgets whilst maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Responsibilities Include:
· Assist the Head of Retail and Beverage Operations in all operational requirements in line with KPIs and budget targets.
· To assist the Head of Retail and Beverage Operations in actively promoting sales growth through innovation, Food and Beverage offering and staff incentives.
· Take lead responsibility for the retail areas, ensuring tasks are assigned and implemented in accordance with our SOPs, policies and legal requirements for forthcoming events, and that stock rotation, cleaning procedures and suitable stock levels are in place.
· Work alongside other arena departments and relevant external contractors to ensure event operations are coordinated and complement each other.
· Liaise with Head of Retail and Beverage Operations to ensure stock levels are maintained in line with forthcoming events calendar and raise purchase orders when required.
· Ensure all event invoicing and purchase ordering is carried out accurately and promptly.
· Report retail wage forecasting and payroll to Head of Retail and Beverage Operations
· Work with the wider F&B teams to ensure an excellent process for casual staff recruitment, retention and training aligned with the Training Academy.
· Ensure compliance to health and safety and food hygiene regulations and ensure all relevant legislation is adhered to.
· Assist with all administrative duties across the Food and Beverage department.
· To lead and develop an energetic casual workforce, be an integral part in the recruitment process for the team, learning and development, employee relations issues and team engagement initiatives.
· Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Head of Food and Beverage.
· Managing and motivating the staff to improve the quality & speed of service, meet targets, and increase sales.
· Become an Oracle ePOS systems champion both operational and mastering of the reporting functionality
Update and improve the retail digital signage experience so that the customer experience is elevated, quicker and easier
Help reduce wastage across all of our operations.

Person Specification
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment, ideally within the entertainment/leisure industry.
· Someone who can work well under their own initiative to ensure deadlines are achieved.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and confidence to make decisions.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Critical thinker, eye for detail, someone who doesn't settle for just ok
· A desire to develop their career.
· Good knowledge and understanding of current health and food safety regulations.
· Experience of managing, training and developing a successful team and strong examples of personally delivering training and leading development processes are essential for this role.
· Willing to work outside of normal working hours e.g. weekend work, late nights.
