Our comprehensive slate of consulting and sales execution services includes delivering naming and venue entitlement positions, jersey sponsorships, premier events partnerships, emerging entertainment platforms, universities, mixed-use real estate developments and more.
The newly created European Football department focuses on premium football opportunities in the market, leveraging the LGP expertise to develop and grow this new revenue unit for the company.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Global Partnerships – European Football will conceptualize, develop, and secure key corporate partnerships with companies looking to invest in football.
This position will report to the Vice President of European Football Partnerships, and it will be located within Legends Iberia offices in Madrid, Spain.
This individual will have a proven track record in building successful partnerships and a natural grind to become a key player in the success of the department. She/he must already have an established reputation and track record of sport sponsorship sales’ success gained – ideally in the world of football.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Commercial outreach: secure and conduct sales meetings by leveraging relationships as well as cold calling in order to:
o present Legends´ Football portfolio to potential national/international sponsorship partners and develop an integrated, solution-driven approach to creating partnership packages.
o build and maintain a pipeline of new business prospects
· Identify Partnership opportunities within premium Football rightsholders and establish relationships
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at the sports property and Brand companies.
· Understand the marketing objectives of prospective clients and their agencies and determine how a partnership in football can help them achieve their goals.
· Collaborative and coordinated leadership
o with the Legends Global partnerships team to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales process
o work closely with the VP of European Football Partnerships to align strategic initiatives and drive business growth across the portfolio
· Research and identify industries and organizations to solicit for partnerships.
· CRM Management - Utilize Salesforce to track interactions, manage prospect data, and automate follow-up tasks
· Strategic Alignment - Partner with our strategy team to leverage data-driven insights about prospects, identify market trends, and refine targeting approaches for maximum impact
· Negotiate and close partnership deals and work with counsel or legal teams through contract execution.
· Attend weekly meetings with senior-level executives and provide updates.
· Meet and exceed all revenue goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Business, or related field.
5+ years related work experience within the sports & entertainment industry
Skills and Abilities
Renowned solution-selling pedigree.
Solid book of business with high-level contacts at large and midsize corporations, particularly companies with sponsorship portfolios.
Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies and negotiating creative solutions.
Exemplary problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
Known throughout the industry for their poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
Pre-existing relationships with senior-level marketing executives.
Key agency contacts with media buyers, planners, and senior media management.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
A proven track record of creating and selling fully integrated partnerships programs or proposals.
High energy and a personality that thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Strong work ethic and a competitive drive to win.
Excellence in pitching, negotiating, and closing partnership deals.
Ability to communicate the value of partnership vs. pure media as a marketing solution.
Ability to develop creative proposals that meet and exceed potential partners’ needs.
Ability to excel in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Ability to quickly earn and maintain trust.
Ability to develop strong peer-level relationships and work in a team environment.
Business-level competence of English as a second language.
Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
Willingness to travel
