THE ROLE

The Junior Accountant will assist the Iberia finance team in further continuing the development of accounting processes and play a key role in running day-to-day accounting activities.

The role requires someone with the ability to work independently through routine accounting tasks and processes. A significant focus will be on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, daily sales-to-cash reconciliations, bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting. 

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked to run back-office finance operations for the company’s growing business in Iberia.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• General Ledger Accounting.

• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

• Daily reconciliation of sales and cash & credit card transactions as well as bank reconciliations.

• Month-end procedures.

• Assist the Accounting Manager in developing and coordinating accounting processes.

• Build solid working relationships with local internal business partners (e.g. procurement, marketing, operations).

• Assistance with annual audit process.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Support in-venue cash management operations during events.

QUALIFICATIONS

•         Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience preferably in the hospitality or retail sector

•         University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, and/or professional Accounting qualification

•         Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required

•         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential

•         Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement

•         Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment

•         Knowledge of POS, Procurement Systems or ERP a plus

•         Good level of English (verbal and written)
