The Venue
The stunning Grade II listed Sheffield City Hall has been delivering exhilarating events to Sheffield and Yorkshire since the 1930s. Described as a “shrine to rock and roll” by legendary rock impresario Harvey Goldsmith the venues ethos is ‘the show must go on’! The City Hall delivers over 500 entertainment and business events each year and has earned an award-winning reputation for hosting some of the country’s most esteemed business and conferencing events.
The Role
As a Casual Food & Beverage Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests. You will support the wider team by preparing and serving food and drinks, maintaining a clean and organised environment, and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
Please note: this is a casual role, and hours will vary depending on event schedules.
The Responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Prepare and serve food and snacks in line with company standards.
Use tills to take orders and process payments accurately.
Engage with customers, responding to enquiries and promoting current offers.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all service areas.
Respond promptly to spills and potential hazards, ensuring a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable guest experience.
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods to support operations.
What we're looking for
Previous experience in a food and beverage or customer-facing role is desirable.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided).
Experience working in a hospitality or event environment is beneficial.
A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Friendly and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional approach at all times.
A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
