THE ROLE

The Junior Accountant will assist the Finance Manager - Hospitality in establishing Legends’ Hospitality business in Iberia and play a key role in running day-to-day accounting activities.

The role requires someone with the ability to work independently through routine accounting tasks and processes. A significant focus will be on Accounts Payable, daily sales-to-cash reconciliations, bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked to run back-office finance operations for the company’s new hospitality business in Iberia.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Accounts Payable (e.g. supplier invoice accounting, invoice vs purchase order matching, payment schedules).

- Daily reconciliation of sales and cash & credit card transactions as well as bank reconciliations.

- Month-end procedures (incl. operational cost, sales recognition).

- General Ledger Accounting, including Balance Sheet accounts.

- Assist the Finance Manager in developing and coordinating accounting processes.

- Build solid working relationships with local internal business partners (e.g. procurement, marketing, operations).

- Assistance with annual audit process.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

- Support in-venue cash management operations during events.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2-3 years of Finance experience preferably in the hospitality sector, with proven experience in Accounts Payable.

- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, and/or professional Accounting qualification.

- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.

- Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement.

- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.

- Knowledge of POS, Procurement Systems or ERP a plus.

- Good level of English (verbal and written).

- Must be available to work occasionally on weekends/ evenings.
